BirthOrigin* | Titus was from Malabar and may have been born there circa 1658. He was 14 when sold as a slave in 1672. It should be born in mind that the toponym 'van Malabar' or from Malabar was a term loosely applied during the period of VOC dominance to enslaved or formerly enslaved people from the west coast of the Indian sub-continent south of Goa.1 |
Slave Transactions | Titus van Malabar and Andries van Malabar were sold by Admiral Joan Barra to Johann Conrad von Breitenbach on 14 April 1672, for Rds. 110.2,3 |
