BaptismMachiel van Booven was baptized on 13 March 1695 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop. The baptism was witnessed by Douw Gerbrantz Steijn and Maria Losëe.2 
(Beneficiary) InventoryJesaias Michaelse's estate was inventoried on 22 August 1714. The inventory named Levina Lijvens, Machiel van Booven and Susanna van Boven as benefitting from the estate. The only slave mentioned in the inventory, was Isabella van Madagascar who was valued at f 90:-:- and described as an oude slavin. Her son Gerrit van de Caep who may also have been the child of the deceased, was not mentioned.3
