Birth*Maria van Madagascar was born circa 1670 in Madagascar.1

BaptismMaria van Madagascar was baptized on 20 November 1695 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop.1

Family

Child
  • Jannetie van de Caep b. b 25 Dec 1701; I have assumed this to be the correct mother/daughter relationship. Maria was baptised in 1695, perhaps in anticipation of her manumission, which would account for her daughter being baptised as a free person. Corrections welcome2
Slaves Owned by the CompanyOn 20 November 1695 Maria van Madagascar was enslaved and owned by the VOC (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie) at the Cape.1
