He married Aletta Vorster, daughter of Jan Vorster and Elisabeth Lùbbe, on 25 November 1742 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, Drakenstein, de Caep de Goede Hoop. The marriage was performed by Ds. Salomon van Echten.²
