Arr. 1779 as ship-corporal, blacksmith 1779-84; wished to repatriate after the expiration of his contract, but shortly before his intended departure two soldiers robbed him of 800 rds. So he had to stay at the Cape and was engaged as blacksmith by the landdrost of Swellendam (12.4.1785). In 1791 he got burgher rights. Resident at Swellendam. m. 18.12.1791 Maria Marth a du Preez, wid. Christian Friedrich Wotzky (q.v.). Divorced and 1802 remarried to Maria Isabella Steyn. † 1816 at Swellendam. Surviving children: Anna Johanna Susanna (bapt. 20.3.1803) and Anna Maria (bapt. 26.9.1806) x 22.12.182 1 Petrus Hendrik Ebersohn (G.R. nr. 331). (GMR 1779-84; CJ 1162: 79; C 288, p. 635: Test. in CJ 842 under 27.9.1805; Inv. O.C. 32: 15; Bdlr. 41: 13.) Kr. was a member of the Lutheran Church at Cape Town.
