Arrival* In 1806, Carolus Lynis arrived at the Cape. He may be the same individual known as Carolus Lijnis who was born in Edam, Nederland and who died on 2 February 1823.1 
Property TransactionsCarolus Lynis bought Schoongezicht from Coenraad Johannes Albertyn in 1808, ensuring that the property was alienated from the descendants of Anna Hoeks.3
