(Witness) Abjuration On 21 October 1685, at La Roque d'Anthéron, Provence, France, following the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, Jean Barret Louis Barret and André Barret abjured their Protestant faith.2 
Baptisms - WitnessLouis Barret and Marie Grillion witnessed the baptism of Louis Jourdan on 15 July 1697 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, Drakenstein, de Caep de Goede Hoop.4,5

We highlight this, as Louis Barret will enter the picture at the Cape. The abjurations take place on 21 October 1658 in La Roque d'Antheron. André senior has already died and the two young men are in the company of a certain Jean Barret and his wife.. Hereinafter cited as "Pierre de Cabrières and Pierre de Belle Etoile."
