BirthOrigin*Pasquael was from Bengal and perhaps born there circa 1649. The date is estimated.1
Slave TransactionsOn 17 December 1669 Pasquael van Bengale was sold by Jochem Marquart to Claes Goselijck, Willem Cornelisz van Ijlpendam and Jurgen Cornelisz, for Rds 100. The purchasers were free Saldanhavaarders.2,3
On 8 June 1679 Pasquael van Bengale was sold by Tobias Marquaert to Theunis Dirks van Schalkwijk, for Rds. 65. I have assumed this to be the same slave sold in 1669 by Jochem Marquaert. Corrections welcome.4
