Slave TransactionsJacob van Madagascar and Anthony van Madagascarwere sold by William Deeron, to Jan Baptist on 21 January 1684, for Rds. 144 or 432 guilders.2,3

Böeseken se Addendum van Kaapse slawe-verkoopstransaksies: Foute en regstellings", Kronos (Foute en regstellings) 9 (1984): Op bladsy 141 van die addendum, met een van die transaksies gedateer 21.1.1684, verkoop Jan Baptist twee slawe. Die addendum se dit was vir 122f. In die dokument staan egter, ook heel duidelik in woorde uitgeskryf, dat dit vir 144 Rds. of te wel 432 gulde was. Vir berekeningsdoeleindes maak dit ‘n aardige verskil uit.. Hereinafter cited as "Foute en regstellings."
  3. [S418] Anna J. Böeseken, Slaves and Free Blacks at the Cape 1658-1700, p. 141. 2.1.1684: WiIliam Deeron sold two slaves to Jan Baptist for f l22. These slaves were called Jacob and Anthony.
