Christoffel was from Trancquebar and was perhaps born there circa 1677. He was said to be 20 years old in 1697.¹

Names in the record, in publications, etc.

30 November 1697, the name of Christoffel was written in the record as Christoffel van Malabar.²

Slave Transactions

On 6 January 1697 Aran van Trancquebare and Christoffel van Trancquebare were sold by Jan Pietersz: van Vleugel to Jan Cotse, for Rds. 80 each.³
On 30 November 1697 Christoffel van Trancquebare was sold by Jan Kotze to Pierre Simond, for Rds. 84. I have assumed this to be the same individual purchased as Christoffel van Trancquebare 10 months earlier.²
