BirthOrigin*Alexander was perhaps from the ancient village of Kalikata, Coromandel Coast, which, with two other villages, grew into the city Kolkata, known since the 1690s as Calcutta. He was perhaps born there circa 1677. He was said to be 20 years old in 1697.1 
Slave TransactionsOn 6 June 1697 Alexander van Caijcatte was sold by Cornelis Pietersz: to Hendrick Bouman, for Rds. 60.2
