Birth*Jan van de Kust was born circa 1661, he was said to be 38 years old in 1699.1
 
Marriage De facto* Circa 1704 Jan van de Kust and Martha van Jambi were in a de facto relationship. This relationship is assumed. The couple arrived at the Cape and were each purchased by Samuel Elsevier within two months of each other.2

  • Juliana van de Caep b. b 16 Nov 1704; I have assumed this to be father and daughter given that he arrived at the Cape and was purchased by Samuel Elsevier a couple of months prior to Martha van Jambi2
Names in the record, in publications, etc.16 November 1704, the name of Jan was written in the record as Jan van Mannaar.3
Slave TransactionsOn 14 March 1699 Jan van de Kust was sold on behalf of Abigael Hijkman by Alexander Hendricksz: to Samuel Elsevier, for Rds. 60.4
