BirthOrigin*Hans was from Croon Wynnenburg and was perhaps born there circa 1630.1 
Vrijbriewen and Burgher StatusOn 8 November 1658, Hans Jurich Gieter was granted a vrijbrief or letter of freedom which released him from his contractual obligations to the VOC and accorded him the status of vrijburgher or free burgher. He was recorded as a soldier on the West Vrieslant.2
