Slave Birth - Company OwnedChristina van de Caep was born in bondage before 23 September 1696 and was owned by the VOC (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie), I have assumed her to be the daughter of Magdalena, daughter of Maaij Claesje van Angola. Corrections welcome.1
BaptismChristina van de Caep was baptized on 23 September 1696 Nederduitsche Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town).1 
RacialDesignation* On 23 September 1696 Christina van de Caep was described as halfslag, a racial tag meaning she was mixed race, i.e. her father would most likely have been white.
