BirthOrigin*Abdul was from Macassar and was perhaps born there circa 1665. The date is estimated. I have assumed him to be the exiled Macassarese prince banished to the Cape in 1680, along with his unnamed brother, for insolence to his mother, viz.: met sijn broeder: wegens ongehoorsaamheijd tegens haar moeder tot naardere order in de ketting gebannen in Ao 1680 met 't schip 'ASIA' overgekomen; draagen haar wel.2

Names in the record, in publications, etc.20 February 1680, the name of Abdul was written in the record as Adol van Macassar.2
