Cornelis van der Sluys was born circa 1676, the date is estimated. Nothing more is known about this individual other than that he and his unnamed wife witness the baptism of Gerhardus Kalden on 27 May 1697. The couple were likely en passant at the Cape on this date. Additions and corrections are welcome.¹
