Servaas de Kock was born before 17 August 1681 in Breda.³

BaptismPutative

Servaas de Kock was almost certainly the individual who was baptized on 17 August 1681 Nederlands Hervormde, Breda. This is a very strong putative baptism for this individual. He is said to have arrived at the Cape in 1707 from Middelburg, which would be a logical point of embarkation for the Cape - and also to join the VOC - for an individual from Breda. Furthermore, the names of the parents Alexander and Cornelia appear among the children of Servaes deKock - he baptises a son Alexander and a daughter Cornelia. My thanks to Susan Anneveldt for bringing this to my attention.⁴

He married Susanna van Boven, daughter of Jesaias Michaelse van Booven and Levina Lijvens, on 30 March 1713 Nederduitsche Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town).⁵
