BirthOrigin*Dapoer was from Batavia and was perhaps born there circa 1690. The date is estimated. It should be born in mind that slaves originating in Batavia, modern-day Jakarta, were often imported to that city from elsewlhere in that general region, before being sent to the Cape.2
