Christiaan van de Caep van Cornelia was baptized on 12 April 1711 Nederduitsche Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town).¹

31 August 1714 Nantsana van Madagascar was enumerated on the census of the Slave Lodge, (Cape Town), as a company-owned slave. Also enumerated in this census were her daughter Cornelia van de Caep van Nasanna; and Cornelia’s children Lodewijk van de Caep van Cornelia, Christiaan van de Caep van Cornelia and Agatha van de Caep van Cornelia van Ansana. A male child was transcribed as Christijn by Shell in this record and for now I have assumed it to be a transcription error.²
