Tondern (but according to CJ 870: 104 born at Lübeck). Son of "Hofrat" Heinrich Christian v. C. and Louisa Christina von Sittmann or Zittmann. Arr. 1745 as so., loaned as schoolmaster to Willem van Heerden 4.8.1746; messenger of Stellenbosch 1750. ~26.4.1750 Maria Elsje Groenewald. 3 children. Repatriated after the death of his wife (1755?) and was remarried in Europe to Elisabeth Täubner. Returned in 1761 to the Cape as corporal.
