Names in the record, in publications, etc.10 April 1682, the name of Wilhelm was written in the record as Willem Meier.
Baptisms - WitnessWilhelm Meyer and Catharina Kiens witnessed the baptism of Jannetie van Wijck on 13 June 1688 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop.6
Slave TransactionsOn 28 January 1684 Unnamed and Gender Unspecified Slave van Madagascar was exchanged by Steven Bradly with Wilhelm Meyer for the slave Claes plus Rds. 20. Given the cash sum paid, this transaction seems unusual, if not unlikely, and I have therefor for now assumed there were just two slaves involved, and that Böeseken misread the record that a third was included. Corrections welcome.7
On 12 May 1685 Catrina van Madagascar was sold by Francois Bureau to Wilhelm Meyer, for Rds. 50.8
On 5 May 1686 Cupido van Madagascar and Jan van Madagascar ca 1666 were sold by William Deeron to Wilhelm Meyer, for Rds. 68.9,10
On 6 February 1690 Arent van Madagascar was sold by William Deeron to Wilhelm Meyer, for Rds. 45.11
