Slave Birth - Company OwnedMaria Francina Cleef was born in bondage before 14 July 1708 and was owned by the VOC (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie), de Caep de Goede Hoop.1

Slave EmancipationsMaria Francina Cleef was emancipated by the Company, in 1720, at the request of Hermanus Combrinck, her brother-in-law, who paid 50 rixdollars and provided a substitute slave, Claas van Mallebaar.5
