BirthOrigin*Sara was from Ceylon and perhaps born there circa 1650. Her age is estimated.1 
Slave EmancipationsOn 16 May 1676 Sara van Ceylon was emancipated by Ouwel Jansen de Caep de Goede Hoop, she was free to remain at the Cape or to return to the East.2,3
