Slave TransactionsOn 6 January 1677 Augustinus Casta van Madagascar was sold by Arnout Lammertszen to Jan Dircksz, for Rds 40.2,3
Slave EmancipationsOn 5 May 1699 Augustinus Casta van Madagascar purchased his freedom from Jan Dircksen de Beer, by agreeing to work for De Beer for another 3 years at Rds. 2 per month. He would be 42 years old when his obligation was fulfilled and he would be free to make his own choices.4
