BirthOrigin*Matthijs was from the Malabar Coast and was perhaps born there circa 1674. He was said to be 22 years old in 1696.1 
Slave TransactionsOn 19 January 1696 Matthijs van Malabar and Jonas van Malabar were sold by Christiaen van Alst to Jan Stevensz Botma de Jonge, for Rds. 84 each.2
