Birth*Marij NN was born circa 1688, the date is estimated - she was old enough to baptise a child in 1708.1

  • Dirkje van de Caep b. 6 May 1708; This relationship is offered with a view toward further discovery in the record. When Theunis Dirksz van Schaliwijk died in 1717, he was the owner of a slave woman Mari or Marij who was mother to two children. No other slave children are recorded in his estate.1
Slave TransactionsOn 13 April 1717 Marij NN and Dirkje van de Caep were perhaps mother and daughter who along with another sibling, were sold from the estate of Theunis Dircksen van Schalckwyck to Jürgen Pieterson van den Heever for Rds 104.1
