BirthOrigin*Floris was from Batavia and was perhaps born there circa 1683. He was said to be 20 years old in 1703.1
Baptisms - WitnessFloris van Batavia and Jannetje Rutgertrost witnessed the baptism of Leonora van de Caep on 25 October 1711 Nederduitsche Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town).2
Slave TransactionsOn 21 March 1703 Floris van Batavia was sold by Cornelis Kool to Willem ten Damme, for R65.3
I believe that sometime after the death circa 1714 of his owner Willem ten Damme, Floris van Batavia passed into the hands of an unknown individual who took him back to the East, because in 1721 Ten Damme's widow buys him back from the skipper of the Barneveld arriving from Batavia.1
On 10 April 1721 Floris van Batavia was sold by Arij Bogaardt to Helena Gulix.4
