Slave Birth - Company OwnedGrisella van de Caep van Isabella was born in bondage before 1 February 1693 and was owned by the VOC (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie), de Caep de Goede Hoop Grisella van de Caep van Isabella.1
BaptismGrisella van de Caep van Isabella was baptized on 1 February 1693 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop. The baptism was witnessed by Andrijs de Man and H. Capt Willem Padt.1 
RacialDesignation* On 1 February 1693 Grisella van de Caep van Isabella was described as halfslag, a racial tag meaning the father was most probably white.
