Birth*Sijmon Ham was born circa 1670.2
 
Death*He died before 9 June 1690, when he was shot by a company official during a search for absconded slaves. Sijman was participating in the search and was himself carrying a weapon, something slaves were not permitted to do, and the official mistook him for one of the missng slaves. The matter was reported to the authories by Elisabeth van Angola.3 
Slave TransactionsOn 31 July 1684 Sijmon Ham was sold by Olof Bergh to Manuel van Angola and Anthoniij van Angola de Caep de Goede Hoop, 85 Rijksdaalders.1,2

Dit was Lijsbeth van Angola wat by die landdros en heemrade oor die dood van "haar" slaaf gaan kla het en skadevergoeding geëis het omdat hy in diens van die gemeenskap deur 'n amptenaar gedood is."
