Christiaan was from Hamburg and may have been born there circa 1670.^1,2,3

Marriage*

He married Maria Bartelz, daughter of Elisabeth van Angola, on 24 April 1701 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, Stellenbosch, de Caep de Goede Hoop.⁴

Death*

He died before 10 March 1707 de Caep de Goede Hoop.⁵

Slave Transactions

On 8 August 1695 Floris van Bengale was sold by Christiaan Martense to Mahiu de Rijke, for Rds. 80.⁶
