BirthOrigin*Geele was from Veenwouden, Friesland, Nederland, and was perhaps born there circa 1700. His age is estimated based on his entry into service with the VOC.4 
Marriage*He married Johanna Weyers, daughter of Heinrich Weyers and Anna Elizabeth Gerrits, on 16 November 1742 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, Stellenbosch, de Caep de Goede Hoop.5
Death*He died after 13 February 1757.3

DNA*An apparent direct patrilineal descendant of Geele Andriesz: has tested positive for YDna haplogroup I-M253. Today this group is found in Fenno-Scandinavia, predominating in Sweden and Norway, gradually thinning out toward Finland and northern Russia. It also bleeds into regions south and west of the main region, including the United Kingdom and Iceland.6,7 
(Crew) ShipVoyage On 7 November 1726 Geele Andriesz van der Walt sailed on the Huis te Assenburg from Goeree to (Cape Town) where it docked on 16 March 1727.8,4 
Names in the record, in publications, etc.7 November 1726, the name of Geele was written in the record as Geele Andriesz.4
Between 16 November 1742 and 13 November 1746, the name of Geele was written in the record as Geele Andriesse van der Wald.9
Geele Andriesz van der Walt was also known as Andries van der Walt.10
