Mesnard, Jean of Provence, born circa 1659, arrived in now Berg China 1688 with his wife Louise Corbonne Minnaar, and six children, Jeanne, 10, George, 9, Jacques, 8, Jean, 7, Phillippe, 6, and a baby of five months. In 1690 he was a widower with four children.
