BirthOrigin*Casper was from Vreeckenhorst, (this is probably Freckenhorst, Stadt Warendorf, Münsterland), and may have been born there circa 1634. His age is estimated.1,2 
Arrival* Between 5 January 1654 and 6 January 1654, Casper Brinckman arrived at the Cape on board the the Amersfoort.1  
Monsterrollen and Opgaafrollen (Muster and tax rolls)On 20 March 1656 Casper Brinckman was enumerated in the muster roll, as an adelborst or midshipman.2
On 31 May 1657 Casper Brinckman was enumerated in the muster roll, as an adelborst or midshipman earning f 10 per month.3
On 15 February 1658 Casper Brinckman and Warnar Cornelisz: were enumerated in the muster roll, among the freemen, as Brinckman's Company and owners. Enumerated with them were Gerrit Sandersz: and Tomas Robberts described as 'in their service.4'

Vrijbriewen and Burgher StatusOn 1 October 1657, Casper Brinckman was granted a vrijbrief or letter of freedom which released him from his contractual obligations to the VOC and accorded him the status of vrijburgher or free burgher.7
Slave TransactionsOn 10 May 1658 Maria van Guinea was sold by the Company to Casper Brinckman.8,9
On 10 May 1658 Evert van Guinea was sold by the Company to Casper Brinckman.10
On 1 April 1659 Evert van Guinea was sold by Casper Brinckman to Johan Anthoniszoon van Riebeeck, no amount was specified.10
On 4 September 1660 Maria van Guinea was sold by Casper Brinckman to Maria de la Queillerie.11,8
